Designed obtaining core plugs from the formations in a Jansen mine shaft and coordinated measurement of mechanical properties and conducted QC/QA of data gathering at several commercial laboratories.

The core was extremely fragile with high clay content. Designed a core bit to obtain high quality core plugs suitable for mechanical property measurements and petrographic analysis.
