ABOUT US
Dr. Matt Honarpour is the CEO of the Honarpour Technology Company, LLC. He provides consulting and integrated training and mentoring for international and domestic petroleum companies, and services as a SME for carbon sequestration and mining projects. Previously, he was the Principal Reservoir Engineer at BHP for 7 years. Prior to that, he was the Global Reservoir Engineering Advisor at Hess Corporation for 6 years. Prior to that, he was a Senior Reservoir Engineering Advisor at ExxonMobil for 18 years. Dr. Honarpour has several years of teaching and mentoring experience in both academia; University of Missouri, Rolla, Montana Tech, Butte, Montana and in the petroleum industry.

Matt currently is a consultant for BHP and Woodside Energy on evaluation of recovery mechanism for offshore Mexico reservoir. He is also contributing to rock and fluid characterization for gas condensate reservoirs in Caribbean offshore fields. He is also an SME for a large Carbon Sequestration project.

Matt was the Principal Reservoir Engineer at the BHP Central Engineering. He coordinated and advised performance forecasting, characterization of rock, fluids and rock-fluid properties of heterogeneous formations in conventional and unconventional reservoirs, including Deep Water Gulf of Mexico, Australia, Pakistan and Trinidad in support of BHP field development and rock-fluid-testing and scale-up for reservoirs.
